Watches...the male version of shoes
Watch Collecting is a relitively new concept in the mainstream. In the 19th century it was common place for a gentleman to have a collection of pocket watches that he would accesorise for different occasions and outfits, but this was reserved for the rich as watches were expensive luxury items.
This watch collection idea was lost on modern society until recently and was surprisingly brought back by men. The reason for this is fashionable but affordable designer brands like Diesel, DKNY, Black Dice, Calvin Klein and Evisu.
Women have been doing it for years. A pair of shoes for each occasion and some that only go with one outfit. Jewelery boxes full off bling to show everyone how fashionable, different or rich they are.
Well finally its ok for a man to do the same thing and we like to do it with watches, and why not? It gives us one more thing to compare to our friends and compete with them over.
And theres the good news, we're not accesorising, watches aren't the male version of shoes, we're doing what men do best......competing with our friends.
